The Leitz Infinity offers the highest precision and reliability by integrating tactile and optical sensors into a single measurement system, making it the most accurate 3D coordinate measuring machine (CMM) in its class. Every aspect of the Leitz Infinity is designed to ensure dependable and precise ultra-high accuracy measurements. Its closed-frame design features a granite crossbeam, a fixed gateway supported by cast iron pedestals, and a solid granite foundation. Measurements can be conducted using the “as fast as possible, as slow as necessary” approach, thanks to variable high-speed scanning (VHSS), which delivers exceptional scanning performance.
Features and Benefits
Design in Closed Frame
Long-term stability is guaranteed by the granite base with a granite crossbeam and a cast iron fixed doorway. Consistent accuracy across the measuring volume is guaranteed by the measurement axis’ high rigidity.
Table in Motion
Constant dimensional relationships and effective movement sequences without tilting or twisting are guaranteed by the traveling measurement table on pre-loaded air bearings with a centrally located spindle drive.
Maximum Reproducibility
Measurement results are most reproducible on high-resolution scales (0.001 µm).
Elevated Stability
By removing the influence of vibrations, the active pneumatic damping system guarantees stable measuring operations.

Applications
Cylindrical gears:
Spur gears, including internal and external splines, as well as helical and double helical designs, are used in various applications. Additionally, there are internal and external clutch gears, as well as gear segments that can have a minimum of one tooth.
Bevel gears are available in gear racks and include types such as crown gears, hypoid gears, spiral bevels, and straight bevels. For gear cutting, tools from Klingelnberg (KIMOS), DMG, and Gleason (GAGE 4/WIN) are employed.
When evaluating cutting tools, criteria for form cutters, hob cutters, broaches, shaper cutters, and shaving tools consider standards from ANSI, DIN, ISO, AGMA, JIS, CNOMO, and CAT.
The specifications include:
– Maximum gear weight: 750 kg
– Range of modules: 0.5 to 100 mm
– Maximum gear width: 700 mm
– Maximum shaft length: 1200 mm
– Maximum gear diameter: 950 mm for spur gears and 700 mm for helical gears, depending on the module and stylus configuration.
